Springtime at Liber
Springtime at Liber
World Book Day has been and gone, but there are still some important book days to note in your diary. Mothers Day is on the 15th of March & St. Patrick’s Day is two days later. Easter is on the horizon also. There are plenty of great new titles now available in Liber & with the days getting longer there should be ample time to fit in some reading!
Sligo Children’s Book Festival
Liber is part of the celebrations and will be holding a Children’s Storytelling event as part of the festivities on Saturday, the 7th of March, at 12.30pm. Schools are also involved & will be giving away vouchers for free books. So get reading and get involved.
Yeats 2015
Only three months to go until we all will be reading poetry to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of WB Yeats. Liber will be taking part in the celebrations much like everywhere else in Yeats spiritual home of Sligo. Remember, you can get prepared for the festivities by purchasing your Yeats books at Liber. Michael Harding
Michael Harding was recently in Sligo and was on hand afterwards to sign copies of his books ‘Staring at Lakes’ & ‘Hanging With the Elephant’ for the audience. The response he received was very positive and those who waited after found him to be a very warm and engaging character much like his persona in his books. Like us on Facebook to see some pictures from Michael’s talk.
Recommended Spring Buys
Mothers day is on the 15th of March this year. The Day itself is age old and the correct term for it is actually “Mothering Sunday”, not Mothers Day which is a more recent incarnation from the USA. Whatever your preference we have many books in stock catering for every Irish mammy like ‘I Love Mum‘ ‘Dear Mum‘ and many more. Our national holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, is hot on its heels so why not come into Liber and see many of the great Irish titles that we have currently in stock. We have something for everyone from old to young. Finally, Easter really is the high time of spring and a time for people to get active. So why not learn a new recipe from Neven Maguire or go for a Sunday stroll to burn off the chocolate and Easter eggs and get some inspiration from the amazing walks nearby.
